St Catherine's: A family united in God's love, learning in faith together for a compassionate tomorrow.
As a school within Plymouth CAST, we are fully inclusive of all faiths but Christian values are at the heart of our school. At St Catherine’s, we are committed to ensuring that we improve the school in order to provide the best possible education for our children. We want to work closely with parents, parish and the wider community not only to raise standards, but to also help our young people make sense of their faith and their relationships with God and each other.
I became the new Headteacher in September 2019 and the pupils, staff and governors of St Catherine’s have already made me feel incredibly welcome. My passion for teaching has been life-long. I gain tremendous fulfilment from establishing relationships based on nurture, mutual trust and respect with the children, and from seeing those pupils learn, blossom and grow. My philosophy for education is making a difference. In order to ensure children learn and make progress, I believe it is crucial that they all have the opportunity to access an innovative, dynamic and challenging curriculum where the needs of each child are met. This is one of the areas we are developing further, so as to inspire children’s curiosity and foster a lifelong love of learning. I am therefore excited to be leading a school where the staff team have the energy and enthusiasm to ensure we make the changes necessary to become a good school.
This website will provide you with a window into the life at St Catherine’s where our vision, “A family united in God’s love, learning in faith together for a compassionate tomorrow”, underpins the day to day ethos of our school and is supported by our Gospel values of Humility, Compassion, Kindness, Justice, Forgiveness, Integrity, Peace and Courage.
