Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE)
Personal, social, health and economic (PSHE) education is an important and necessary part of all pupils’ education. It aims to equip pupils with a sound understanding of risk and with the knowledge and skills necessary to make safe and informed decisions on:
- drug education,
- financial education,
- sex and relationship education (SRE) and the
- importance of physical activity and diet for a healthy lifestyle
We use the Jigsaw scheme to support our PSHE provision and Ten:Ten Life to the Full which supports our SRE curriculum.
Education in Personal Relationships is closely linked to RE and is taught through a cross-curricular, integrated approach as well as through Circle Time. Our aim is that pupils should have high self-esteem, respecting themselves and others, together with the skills necessary to reflect on, develop and sustain relationships. It is concerned with the development of the whole person towards maturity.
